Gayston currently plates some of its defense industry aluminum products with chromate prior to final paint or clear coat application. Chromates are used to both protect the metal from corrosion as well as ensure proper adhesion with any final coatings. Gayston currently coats nearly 10,000 parts per week with chromate ensuring proper corrosion resistance and final product durability.
